Milwaukee Brewers trade rumors are starting to heat up. With the All-Star break rapidly approaching the next big date in the calendar to come after that will be the MLB trade deadline. This year the final day to complete trades is August 1.
Already we have seen reports that the Brewers are interested in St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O’Neill. While trades within the same division rarely occur a more likely scenario is that Milwaukee trades with someone else.
If the Brew Crew are looking to upgrade in the outfield one team that they could turn to is the Washington Nationals. They have a highly coveted trade piece in Lane Thomas.
Milwaukee Brewers Rumors: Crew named a top 3 landing spot for outfielder Lane Thomas of the Washington Nationals
In a recent publication from TWSN author Daniel Gable listed three landing spots for Lane Thomas. He listed the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The 27-year-old Nationals outfielder has been swinging a great bat this season. His .296 average will suit many teams well, and his 13 homers aren’t too bad either. If your teams need an outfielder for a possible playoff push, this guy would be a great addition.
Lane Thomas is currently enjoying a career year. His 138 OPS is the highest of his career since his rookie season with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2019. His batting average is just a hair under the .300 bench mark, he is slugging over .500, and he is also approaching double digit stolen bases.
Having just entered arbitration and being under team control through the conclusion of 2025 any trading team will have to offer up a significant package. The Nationals are not ready to compete, so it will be interesting to see if they look to trade him or continue to build around him.
