Milwaukee Bucks Patrick Beverley was inserted into the starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Boston Celtics in place of Malik Beasley. Beverley led the team with 20 points in this contest for the Bucks and it was one of the reasons why they defeated the Celtics by a final score of 104-91.
With the win, Milwaukee improves to 48-31 on the year and are the two seed in the Eastern Conference. They snapped their four-game losing streak and the Boston Celtics dropped to 62-17 on the year in a game they didn’t need to win.
Patrick Beverley along with his 20 points also had 10 rebounds and recorded three assists. It was interesting that Beverley led the team in scoring in this matchup. This move was able to help the Bucks in a big way and he may just be in the starting lineup moving forward. Patrick Beverley shot 61.5% from the field and he also was 4-of-8 from three-point land, which gave this basketball team a much-needed spark.
He will need to continue to do this because the Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for some period of time. He scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds, recorded seven assists, blocked two shots, and recorded one steal.
Six Total Players Score in Double Figures For the Milwaukee Bucks and Patrick Beverley Against the Boston Celtics
Along with Beverley and Antetokounmpo scoring in double figures for the Bucks against the Celtics, four other players scored in double figures. Khris Middleton did start for Milwaukee after leaving Sunday’s contest with mouth trauma against the New York Knicks. He finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and nine assists. Middleton has missed other games this season due to injury.
Damian Lillard also scored 12 points for the Bucks in this matchup. Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis Jr. each scored 15 points for the Milwaukee Bucks as well. Portis Jr. continues to make his case as the best Sixth Man in the NBA this season.
What’s important for Milwaukee is that Beverley took advantage of his start over having Malik Beasley in there. With Antetokounmpo out, Beasley may need to go back into the starting lineup for the time being until Giannis Antetokounmpo returns.
Beverley did not start the season with the Bucks as he started the year with the Philadelphia 76ers. He also missed the last couple of games with an injury. It is a good thing that Beverley stepped up when his name was called upon.
