Three-point shooting is essential in today’s game and Malik Beasley’s talent from beyond the arc has been key for the Milwaukee Bucks. Turns out, the shooting guard just made a franchise record in this area recently.
In the Bucks’ previous game against the Charlotte Hornets, Beasley was on fire by connecting seven of his nine attempts from downtown. By the end of the contest, the shooting guard posted 21 points, two rebounds, and two assists in 29 minutes on the court.
Along with Beasley’s production that night, Damian Lillard led the Bucks with 26 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo posted 15 points and 14 rebounds. On the other side of the fence, both Brandon Miller and Nick Richards notched 16 points in the Hornets’ losing effort against Milwaukee.
This game marks Rivers’ first win after going 1-5 since making his debut as the Bucks’ new head coach. Also, the contest against Charlotte is the first with Patrick Beverley in the lineup.
Malik Beasley Reveals True Thoughts In Chasing Milwaukee Bucks’ 3-Point Record
After notching their first win since the Bucks defeated the Dallas Mavericks, Malik Beasley got real about breaking the franchise’s record for most games in a season with five or more three-pointers. In an article written by Eric Nehm for The Athletic:
“Last night I knew going in, that I had a chance to break the record and I kind of put too much pressure on myself, thinking about my shot,” Beasley said on Friday. “And then tonight, I did the opposite. I focused on defense, not getting screened. Shoutout to Coach Opp (Josh Oppenheimer), he made sure to challenge me to see how many times I could not get screened and I don’t think I did many times. And then, I think, like Doc said, the basketball gods will find a way.“
Hitting those three-pointers will be crucial for the Bucks as the team hopes to finish the regular season strong. With the All-Star duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard leading the way, there’s a good chance for Milwaukee to go on a deep run during the postseason.
