The time has come. The Milwaukee Bucks host the New York Knicks at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night with a spot in the NBA In-Season Tournament semifinal at stake. The winner of tonight’s elimination matchup will get to face off against the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas, and will be one step closer to taking home the first-ever IST championship.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley Sends Strong Message
Ahead of Tuesday’s much-anticipated showdown, Bucks veteran Malik Beasley sounded off on their upcoming bout against the Knicks. The 27-year-old made it abundantly clear that Milwaukee is all in on this quarterfinal matchup:
“We definitely want to win it,” he said. “For the regular season and for the in-season tournament to get to Vegas. It’s an important game for us. We’re ready and locked in.”
Beasley then went on to send a strong message about Milwaukee’s championship aspirations this season. According to the 6-foot-4 shooting guard, the Bucks are looking to add two pieces of silverware to their trophy cabinet this season:
“We want to win two championships this year. We’ll start off with this one to get us on the right foot,” Beasley said. “Makes us go in the right direction of winning, defending, and sharing the ball.”
The Bucks will be entering Tuesday’s game a bit shorthanded with a couple of players out injured. However, Beasley is adamant that they can still get the W if they follow the gameplan:
“We got great guys like Bobby (Portis),” Beasley said. “We’re missing Jae (Crowder) and [Pat Connaughton] but you got [MarJon Beauchamp] and all the other role players that make a huge impact on the game. Everybody needs to do their job and we can get this one.”
"We want to win two championships this year. We'll start off with this one!"
