Sonny Gray last allowed multiple home runs in a game during the 2021 season.
For several years Sonny Gray has been a mainstay in a few different organizations starting rotations. He has done a good job at limiting the home run ball and actually had last allowed multiple home runs in an outing on September 24, 2021. The last time he allowed three home runs in a game was July 25, 2021.
Prior to this Brewers and Cardinals game Sonny Gray had been off to a hot start to the 2024 season.
Entering play on Thursday night Sonny Gray had a 0.89 ERA across five starts and 30 innings pitched. His ERA rose to 2.29 after he allowed six earned runs across five innings pitched. Prior to this outing the most runs he had allowed in a game was two (also courtesy of the Brewers).
