Milwaukee Bucks news: It was announced on Wednesday that Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is the winner of the 2023-24 NBA Most Valuable Player award. This is after the now-three-time MVP produced averages of 26.4 points on 58.3 percent shooting, 12.4 rebounds, 9.0 assists, and 1.4 steals, while also knocking down 1.1 triples per game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was not included in the list of Top 3 finalists along with Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Luka Doncic. The Bucks talisman, however, finished at a very respectable standing after yet another memorable season in Milwaukee.

Along with the official announcement, the NBA also revealed the voting results for this season’s MVP award. Jokic was the runaway winner with 926 total points, with SGA settling for a distant second-place finish with 640 votes.
For his part, Antetokounmpo actually ended up as the fourth-highest vote-getter in the final tally:

Giannis finished above New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson, who himself also created a lot of noise in the MVP race thanks to his tremendous campaign. Brunson has kept his foot on the gas in the NBA Playoffs, and he’s now led the Knicks to a 2-0 series lead against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

As for Giannis, I’m pretty sure this fourth-place finish means very little to him. We all know that he wouldn’t have second thoughts about swapping one of his two MVP titles for a championship ring, which makes these most recent voting results even less valuable for the eight-time All-Star.
What you can be sure of, though, is that Antetokounmpo will be back with a vengeance next season — MVP or not.
