The stage is set for the Milwaukee Bucks. They host the New York Knicks at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal of the NBA In-Season Tournament.
It’s a single-elimination game which means that the losers will go home empty-handed. The winners, however, proceed to the semifinals where they will face off against either the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Speaks Out on IST
Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo knows what’s at stake for his team. While there might still be some fans out there who haven’t completely bought in on this novel initiative by the league, Giannis and Co. are definitely all-in:
“I’m excited — big game on Tuesday,” he said, via Bally Sports Wisconsin on Twitter. “Hopefully, we can win the game and hopefully go to Vegas and try to fight for an opportunity to win a trophy.”
The semifinals and the championship game will be held in Las Vegas on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. It’s going to be a mini-tournament that will take place in the gambling capital of the world. You just know that the players are looking forward to that aspect of the IST.
The glitz and glamour might be nice but at the end of the day, these guys are still competitors. The prize at the end of the road is the first-ever In-Season Tournament title. It’s no Larry O’Brien trophy, but you can be sure that Giannis and the rest of the Bucks have that piece of silverware in their crosshairs already.
