The All-Star Game is almost upon us, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to rock the event with a new pair of shoes from Nike. In light of this new drop, the Greek Freak shares a heartfelt dedication for Thanasis Antetokounmpo that will impress sneakerheads.
Antetokounmpo’s humble beginning before he jumped into the NBA is among the best inspirational stories in modern sports. Even when he joined the Bucks in 2014, the All-Star forward still had to battle a lot of challenges and adversity to prove he belonged in the league.
That first season with the Bucks saw Antetokounmpo post 6.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists per game. That’s a far cry from his current season, with averages of 31.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
Along the way, Thanasis joined him in Milwaukee, and the brothers have been there since. It’s only apt for them to be together, given how hard their childhood has been. But in all of the Greek Freak’s success, he has never forgotten Thananis and their hard past as children.

In light of his upcoming All-Star Game appearance, Nike released the Zoom Freak 5 to the public recently. As seen in a tweet by NBA Buzz on X, the shoe has a dedication for Thanasis:

The sneakers, that say, “Thanasis, thanks for sharing,” represent Thanasis sharing his shoes with Giannis when they were poor kids in Greece.
