Just recently, ESPN has released their projected power ranking for every team in the NBA, including the Milwaukee Bucks. This information comes after the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team had a very quiet offseason due to the lack of big names being signed.
The Bucks had a rollercoaster run last season filled with both highs and lows. After a disappointing first-round playoff exit the previous year, the team made significant changes, firing head coach Mike Budenholzer and bringing in Adrian Griffin as his replacement. In a major offseason trade, the Bucks acquired seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard, pairing him with the Greek Freak.

The season started well, with the Bucks posting a strong 30-13 record under Griffin’s guidance. However, on January 23rd, the team surprisingly dismissed Griffin from his role. Doc Rivers was then hired as the new head coach, tasked with leading the Bucks’ championship push.
Despite clinching a playoff berth, the Bucks faced further adversity, as Antetokounmpo suffered a late-season calf injury, and Lillard also missed time due to injury. Ultimately, the short-handed Bucks were upset in the first round by the Indiana Pacers, marking the second consecutive year the team suffered an early playoff exit.
The Bucks’ season was a rollercoaster, filled with coaching changes, a blockbuster trade, and ultimately a disappointing postseason outcome. The team will look to regroup and make another championship run in the 2024-25 season.
ESPN Drops Milwaukee Bucks’ Power Ranking After Quiet Offseason

After most of the biggest moves have been made in free agency, people now have an idea of where the Bucks are for next season. In a report written by Jamal Collier by ESPN, the Eastern Conference team is in eighth place among the 30 teams in the league.
“Will the Bucks reclaim their spot as one of the conference’s true contenders, or has the rest of the East passed them by? While many of their rivals made splashy moves, the Bucks have had a quiet summer. After trading for Damian Lillard on the eve of last season’s training camp and hiring Doc Rivers as coach midseason, Milwaukee hopes to benefit from some continuity next season around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Milwaukee got eliminated in the first round after an up-and-down season but also never got to see its team at full strength during the postseason because of a left calf injury to Antetokounmpo,” Collier wrote.
As it stands, the Bucks lost Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley, making their guard rotation a lot thinner. Fortunately, they signed Delon Wright, Gary Trent Jr., and Taurean Prince to reinforce the roster for next season.

It remains to be seen how Milwaukee will rise up to the challenge or have a mediocre run similar to the previous season. In any case, a lot of people will be interested to see how the Bucks’ roster will fare against teams who invested during the offseason this year.
