Milwaukee Bucks’ Thanasis Antetokounmpo Voted as All-Star by Three NBA Players

To a certain extent, I guess you could say that Thanasis Antetokounmpo is an important member of the Milwaukee Bucks squad. He may not be the most talented player on the roster, but he definitely brings a lot of energy every single game, albeit on the bench. More importantly, this dude plays a crucial role in making sure that his younger brother Giannis remains happy in Milwaukee.

As it turns out, though, at least three NBA players see much more value in Thanasis than we all do.

The All-Star starters were announced on Thursday with Giannis and Damian Lillard ably representing the Bucks as part of the East starters. Along with the announcement, the results of the entire vote were also made public.

As pointed out by league insider Tim Reynolds, three players who, for some reason, decided to include Thanasis Antetokounmpo on their All-Star ballot:

There were three NBA players who cast a ballot saying Thanasis Antetokounmpo should start the All-Star Game.

Unfortunately, the voters remain anonymous so we won’t ever know who these three players are. I guess we’ll never get to confirm the theory that the three players who voted for Thanasis as an All-Star are Giannis, Thanasis himself, and Alex Antetokounmpo.

    I’m kidding, of course.

What’s even more amazing is that Thanasis got even more votes than a couple of ex-All-Stars on the Bucks:

Thanasis Antetokounmpo got more player votes than Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. (3-2-2-2)

Given all this, I’m thinking the NBA should probably revisit the All-Star voting system, particularly for players who aren’t taking it seriously.
