The Milwaukee Bucks officially announced their trade deal with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.
It was initially reported that the Bucks shipped off veteran big man Robin Lopez to Sacramento in exchange for cash considerations. However, it was revealed in the official announcement that the trade also included Milwaukee getting the draft rights to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s teammate from the Greece national team.
Milwaukee Bucks Send Robin Lopez Packing
Lopez hasn’t exactly been able to establish himself as a key player for the Bucks this season. He’s averaged just 1.1 points and 0.3 rebounds in 4.1 minutes per game. He’s only made 16 appearances throughout the campaign in what was his second stint in Milwaukee.
Apparently, the Kings want nothing to do with Lopez either. Sacramento will reportedly waive his contract as soon as the trade is official, thereby sending the 35-year-old to the waiver wire.
Bucks Acquire Draft Rights for Dimitrios Agravanis
As it turns out, the Bucks are getting more than just cash in this deal. According to the official announcement, Milwaukee now owns the draft rights to 29-year-old Greek national Dimitrios Agravanis:

Agravanis has spent the last 13 seasons playing in the domestic league in Giannis’ native of Greece.
The 6-foot-10 big man was selected by the Atlanta Hawks back in 2015. His draft rights have since been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Kings, and now, the Bucks.
It remains to be seen if the Bucks will decide to call Agravanis up to their squad, but the fact that they now own his draft rights means that they can opt to do so. If and when they do, Giannis and his brother Thanasis will play a key role in helping Agravanis adjust to life with the Bucks and in the United States.
