Robin Lopez is one of two Milwaukee Bucks players who did not survive the NBA trade deadline. The 35-year-old is now on his way out after Milwaukee traded him to the Sacramento Kings, who in turn, are reportedly going to waive his contract as soon as they possibly can.
With the trade not yet official, Lopez made an appearance on the sidelines on Thursday night as the Bucks hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Fiserv Forum. It was a chance for Lopez to send a message about this recent turn of events.
Robin Lopez Seen Reading a Book on Milwaukee Bucks Sidelines
It has been a tumultuous past few hours for the 7-foot-1 center, who will now be on the move again. Before he heads to Sacramento, however, Lopez decided to spend the night in the Fiserv Forum to watch his now-former team in action.
The only issue is that Lopez wasn’t actually paying attention to the game:
HAHA… Robin Lopez is at the scorer's table READING a book after being traded to the Kings earlier today but was told that they will waive him

This is so on-brand for the veteran big man, who’s been known to be one of the most comical members of the Bucks squad. Surely, this dude will be missed.
Does Robin Lopez Have a Path Back to Milwaukee?
The Bucks received cash from the Kings as part of the deal. Sacramento has no intention of adding Lopez to their lineup, which means that he’s going to hit the waiver wire as soon as the Kings are able to waive his services.
Lopez isn’t exactly the most sought-after big man out there, so it would not be a surprise if nobody claims him off the waiver wire at the first opportunity possible.
Could this open up a path back to Milwaukee for the former Standford standout?
For what it’s worth, the Bucks have an open roster spot after trading Lopez for cash. They also have a shortage of bigs on the roster with Robin’s twin brother, Brook Lopez, being the only remaining center in the lineup after the trade deadline.
Milwaukee will likely bring in another big man in the coming days, and don’t be shocked if that ends up being Robin Lopez.
