There’s no doubt Giannis Antetokounmpo remains, not only the best player on the Miwaukee Bucks’ roster, but among the few stars in the league that can turn any team into instant contenders. But for Veronica, the Greek Freak’s mother, there’s a more important reason to consider.
Throughout the 11 seasons he has played in the NBA, Antetokounmpo has racked up a resume filled to the brim with impressive awards and accomplishments. Among these are winning the MVP award twice, being named seven times to an All-Star Game, winning Defensive Player of the Year way back in 2020, leading the Eastern Conference All-Star Team, and securing the 2021 Finals MVP.
And speaking of the 2021 Finals, that particular period saw Antetokounmpo lead the Bucks to their first NBA championship after 50 years. With that victory over the Phoenix Suns, The Greek Freak has finally ascended to a place in the NBA that few have reached.

But among all the awards, accomplishments, and records Antetokounmpo has attained in the NBA, there seems to be one he’s particularly proud of, thanks to Veronica, the Greek Freak’s mother.

The said award is conferred to NBA players who have stood out in philanthropic and charity work. It is named after Bob Lanier due to the late star’s dedication to positively impacting the community.
With Antetkounmpo capturing the award in December of 2023, Veronica has expressed to his son how it’s the only award she’s proud of. Of course, that accolade is just one of the many he has accomplished in more than a decade.
