There was no doubt that the Green Bay Packers were one of the most interesting teams in the NFL last season. After losing Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback, the Packers fell three points short of advancing to the NFC Championship.
As the Packers enter their second season since the trading of Rodgers, many analysts consider them a dark horse for the Super Bowl. It is extremely difficult to win in this league, so that is impressive in and of itself.
During the 2024 off-season, the team has kept itself competitive while getting younger. The Packers could continue that trend very soon according to one report.
The Green Bay Packers Could Be Getting Jaire Alexander A Running Mate Very Soon
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
Green Bay Packers: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
I stuck with the same player I chose for the Packers in our last beat-writer mock draft. Green Bay might want a better starting outside cornerback opposite Jaire Alexander for new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, though Carrington Valentine held his own as a rookie seventh-round pick in 2023.
Brian Gutekunst has twice picked cornerbacks in the first round during his six drafts in charge. Wiggins stands 6-2, 185, so he fits the Packers’ physical requirements for the position.
According to Brugler, Wiggins “moves with quiet, controlled feet/hips to seamlessly transition out of breaks and accelerate to top gear.”
At the very least, the Packers probably need another body at the position, especially if they don’t feel they can count on Eric Stokes’ health holding up. — Matt Schneidman

Nate Wiggins Could Be A Huge Addition For The Packers Defense
Wiggins NFL Draft profile is impressive, to say the least:
Wiggins’ combination of coverage talent and traits could make him a defensive coordinator’s dream. He’s tall, long and fast with rare recovery speed when beaten.
Silky smooth lower-body movement allows him to mirror releases and trace routes without much effort. He can squeeze a little tighter from off-man coverage, while his range as a Cover 3 cornerback makes him a dangerous option to throw near.
He plays with good recognition and elite burst to the throw, which could lead to Pro Bowl production if he can play with more consistent decisiveness. He needs to become a tougher player in run support and when contesting catches against NFL size.
Wiggins’ speed, scheme versatility and playmaking instincts should make him the most sought after cornerback in the draft.
Pairing the most sought after cornerback in the 2024 NFL Draft with Jaire Alexander would create for a dynamic duo in the Packers’ secondary.
Jeff Hafley and the new defensive scheme in Green Bay will rely heavily on the play of their cornerbacks.
