The Milwaukee Bucks return home from a brief two-game road stand on Monday night to host the Los Angeles Clippers. This will be their only matchup in the Fiserv Forum before they hit the road again, this time on a four-game road trip in California to face the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Clippers again, and finally, the Sacramento Kings.
It goes without saying that Monday’s home game will be a pivotal contest for the surging Bucks as they look to remain undefeated since the All-Star break. Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they could be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for this upcoming marquee matchup.
Milwaukee Bucks List Giannis Antetokounmpo as Questionable Vs. Clippers
Over the past couple of weeks, it has been a right knee issue that has been bothering the former back-to-back MVP. He’s been a constant on the Bucks’ injury report, but he has been playing through the knee problem.
He’s on the injury list again for Monday’s contest, but the concerning bit here is that Antetokounmpo is dealing with a new injury. As of writing, he is considered questionable to play against the Clippers due to tendinitis in his left Achilles.
It remains unclear how and when Giannis sustained the injury, but given how this is the first we’re hearing of this, it’s possible that he suffered the knock during Milwaukee’s 113-97 win over the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
At this point, the eight-time All-Star’s status for Monday’s contest remains up in the air.
Clippers Out for Revenge
This will be the first meeting between the Bucks and the Clippers this season. Milwaukee went 2-0 against LA in 2022-23, with their last encounter resulting in a 119-106 victory at the Crypto.com Arena in favor of the Bucks.
Giannis dominated that game with 35 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, and he will be looking to come out with a similar performance on Monday — assuming that he is available, of course.
The Bucks are the winners of five straight games while the Clippers are coming off back-to-back victories, including Sunday’s hard-fought 89-88 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Something’s got to give on Monday night.
