Everyone knew that there were going to be some major changes in the Milwaukee Bucks rotation now that new head coach Doc Rivers is sitting at the helm. However, more than a few folks were still left a bit surprised by the fact that the tenured head coach had no room whatsoever for the team’s younger studs in his rotation.
Based on his recent comments, however, it seems that this could change in the near future.
Doc Rivers Comments on Milwaukee Bucks’ Young Studs
Speaking to Eric Nehm of The Athletic ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Utah Jazz, Rivers was asked about his plan involving the team’s younger players. The tenured shot-caller admitted that so far, this has been one of the biggest challenges he’s faced thus far:
Before the game, I asked Doc Rivers how he has gone about trying to get to know the young players on the team better and figure out how to use them in games.

It’s interesting to note that it’s second-year guard A.J. Green whom Rivers decided to single out in his statement. The 24-year-old’s place in Adrian Griffin’s rotation was erratic, but the fact that he was the first young player to get some minutes under the new regime could be a preview of what’s to come for Green.
Then again, Green played just six minutes in his first appearance since Rivers took over the helm. It’s still a lot better than how rookie Andre Jackson Jr. and MarJon Beauchamp have fared thus far, though, with both players still not being given any playing time in Rivers’ three games in charge.
