The Milwaukee Brewers finished up an outstanding road trip that saw them win every series in which they played. After getting the final three outs for his 17th save of the season, Devin Williams found out that he was going to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle, Washington.
Manager Craig Counsell announced Williams’ selection to the entire team in a memorable speech in which he noted the Brewers’ long history of All-Star closers.
Devin Williams Will Be the Milwaukee Brewers’ Lone Representative in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game
Counsell started out his speech naming some of the great relievers that have represented the Brewers in the All-Star Game: Rollie Fingers, Trevor Hoffman, Francisco Rodriguez, and Josh Hader. Then, he announced that Williams would be an All-Star this year, drawing a big round of cheers and applause from the rest of the team:

Former Brewers closer Josh Hader was also selected to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game. He is third in the National League with 18 saves to go with a 1.21 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. It is Hader’s fifth career All-Star appearance.
