One week ago Milwaukee Brewers starting pitching prospect Carlos Rodriguez tied a career high in single game strikeouts with nine. To follow that performance up the teams 12th ranked prospect recorded his first career double digit strikeout game with 10 against the Montgomery Biscuits on Wednesday May 3, 2023.

Milwaukee Brewers emerging pitching prospect Carlos Rodriguez sets a career high in strikeouts.
In this outing Carlos Rodriguez delivered 5.2 innings of incredible baseball. He allowed just three hits, walked one, surrendered one earned run, and as mentioned above struck out 10 batters. Overall the Biloxi Shuckers struck out 19 batters in this game, which is a single game franchise record.

To go along with an outstanding 1.99 season ERA, Carlos Rodriguez has struck out 35 total batters over 22.1 innings pitched. Opposing batters are hitting just .169 against him and he has a 1.10 WHIP.
Rodriguez’s prospect stock has been steadily rising for quite some time now. He was the Brewers 2022 MiLB pitcher of the year, he impressed with Team Nicaragua in the World Baseball Classic, and he now is dominating to begin the 2023 season. If he can continue to pitch well a promotion could be in line for him some time this season.
