Entering the season four Milwaukee Brewers players were identified as having the ability to reach 100 career home runs in their career. Those players were Jesse Winker, Rowdy Tellez, Luke Voit, and Willy Adames. 34 games into the season slugging shortstop Willy Adames hit his fifth home run of the 2023 year. This also happened to be his 100th of his career.

Willy Adames’ historic blast came during the fifth inning of Sunday’s series finale game against the San Francisco Giants. He just missed a home run earlier in the game, but was able to record a RBI on a SAC fly. Later in the game he would drive in another run via a single to bring his game RBI total up to four.

Since coming to Milwaukee, Adames has hit 56 home runs in 271 games. Last year he led all National League shortstops in home runs with 31 long balls. If he keeps this pace up he should again be near the top in this category as well as in the running for a silver slugger award.
