The Milwaukee Brewers got some love in this week’s MLB power rankings: Oftentimes there are subtle changes in these standings, especially when it is MLB’s power rankings that are updated weekly. However, this week the Brew Crew had the biggest jump of any team. In total they gained eight spots and moved up to seventh overall.

Milwaukee Brewers gained eight spots in MLB Power Rankings, move up to seventh overall.
Despite losing two out of three games this weekend to the Atlanta Braves, the Brewers have been on a tear over the past month. Prior to this weekend the Brew Crew had won or tied seven consecutive series that included a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.
Around the league the Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins had bad weeks. This allowed for the Brewers to leapfrog them in the standings. Excellent play recently from Corbin Burnes and Christian Yelich although with the incredible debuts of Sal Frelick and Abner Uribe may be restoring national media’s faith in the Brew Crew.
Though the Brewers dropped two of three to the Braves this weekend, that came only after they had swept the Reds in Cincinnati coming out of the break and won two of three against the Phillies in Philadelphia. Since dropping to 34-34 on June 14, Milwaukee has gone 21-11 to move 10 games above .500. That’s enough for the Brewers to climb to No. 7 in this week’s rankings – an eight-spot jump from last week
The Brewers will have their work cut out for them this week as once again they play both the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves.
