The 2023 MLB draft is only a few months away. During the first ever draft lottery the Brewers did not make any headway in regards to their draft position and they will pick 18th. Before July 9 arrives various sites are providing updated projections. Here we take a look at a mock draft from Future Stars Series that has the Brew Crew selecting a legitimate third base prospect in Brock Wilken.

Milwaukee Brewers mock draft from the Future Stars Series has the team selecting third base prospect Brock Wilken from Wake Forest.
Brock Wilken is currently ranked 32nd on MLB’s draft prospect board. The Wake Forest product has the typical qualities of a stereotypical third baseman in that he has a ton of power at the plate and a strong throwing arm. His biggest downfall is that he struggles with breaking balls and at times fails to make contact.
As a true freshman Brock Wilken belted 17 home runs. A year later he hit 23 long balls. With the 2023 college season still going on, he has hit 20 home runs through 43 games while sustaining a .335 batting average. To make things even better he is making more contact at the plate as well.
If he is still available at 18 it will be interesting to see if the Milwaukee Brewers pursue Brock Wilken or not. They have not had a legitimate third base prospect for quite some time and Wilken’s strengths check all the boxes of someone that could anchor the hot corner for quite some time.
