The Milwaukee Brewers organization seemingly cannot catch a break on the injury front. Their big league club is dealing with a plethora of injuries and some key prospects in the minor leagues have also been affected. This week alone three top 10 prospects have brutally been lost due to injury.
Jeferson Quero underwent shoulder surgery and will not return for the 2024 season.
After injuring his shoulder on Opening Day of the Triple-A season Jeferson Quero underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum. The Brewers have announced that he will not return for the 2024 season. He is their third ranked prospect, a member of the 40-man roster, and potentially could have made his MLB debut this year.
Brock Wilken was hit in the face by a pitch and sustained multiple facial fractures.
In Double-A Milwaukee’s 2023 first round draft pick and seventh ranked prospect Brock Wilken suffered a scary injury as a 94 MPH fast ball hit him in the head. He sustained multiple facial fractures and surgery is likely once the swelling goes down. No timeline has been provided for his return.
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt is the latest prospect to suffer an injury.
Cooper Pratt, a 2023 draft pick by the Brewers and their 10th ranked prospect, reportedly suffered a broken pinkie earlier this week. Josh Norris of Baseball America was the first to report this news. At the time of this publication the team has not made an official release regarding the nature of his injury.
Heard that #Brewers prospect Cooper Pratt broke his pinkie during the first game of last night’s doubleheader. He’d been impressive in the early going and all spring on the backfields.
