The Milwaukee Brewers announced some devastating injury news one day prior to their playoff series against the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning. They announced that right-handed starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff will not pitch in the series due to his second right shoulder injury of the year. His status for the remainder of the post season is “up in the air”.
Brandon Woodruff spoke in front of the media regarding this development in which he was emotional on the podium. He described what was going on as re-injuring or flaring up what had kept him out most of this season. Once he returned to game action he was phenomenal on the mound, but between some decreased velocity in his last start and ongoing symptoms Sunday (one day after throwing a bullpen) he ended up getting things checked out further.
Here is what fans all had to say on social media following Brandon Woodruffs injury announcement.
Milwaukee Brewers fans react to the devastating injury news surrounding Brandon Woodruff and being without him at minimum against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Heartfelt thoughts go out to Brandon Woodruff as he faces this setback. Injuries are tough, but knowing his determination, he’ll come back stronger. Here’s to a swift recovery and a triumphant return to the mound. Baseball fans are rooting for you, Brandon! ⚾️💪

He is this era’s Ben Sheets. Tons of potential just cant stay healthy. It’s a damn shame, love the guy.
He’s been better than Corbin when healthy.

He choked up in that interview the way I got choked up when I knew I needed to put my dog down before I told anyone I was going to do it. He ain’t pitching again this year I fear.

You can see how much this club means to him. You’re still part of this clubhouse, Woody.
How manytimes can a fan base get snake bitten?

This one is tough for me as Woody has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Feel for the guy! Injuries suck, but we need to press forward as a team!!
