The Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day roster is nearly set. As of Monday, March 25 we know 25 out of the allotted 26 roster spots. Here is a breakdown of which pitchers and position players have reportedly made the 2024 Opening Day roster.
13 pitchers are on the Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day roster.
The following pitchers, according to Curt Hogg at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, have made the Opening Day roster.
- RHP Freddy Peralta
- LHP DL Hall
- RHP Colin Rea
- RHP Jakob Junis
- RHP Joe Ross
- RHP Abner Uribe
- RHP Elvis Peguero
- RHP Joel Payamps
- LHP Hoby Milner
- RHP Bryse Wilson
- RHP Trevor Megill
- LHP Bryan Hudson
- RHP Thyago Vieira
Hogg goes on to indicate that the probable starting pitchers for Opening Weekend include Freddy Peralta for game one, DL Hall for game two, and Colin Rea for game three. Wade Miley will begin the year on the injured list and is expected to make a few starts in Triple-A prior to joining the Brewers. Joe Ross and Jakob Junis figure to round out the starting rotation.
There is still one spot open for a position player on the Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day roster.
13 pitchers is the maximum that a team can carry. This means that the remainder of the spots will go to position players. As it stands today all except one spot is known.

- 1B Jake Bauers
- 2B Brice Turang
- INF Joey Ortiz
- INF Andruw Monasterio

Today’s breaking news in Brewers camp was that Garrett Mitchell sustained a left hand fracture and will start the 2024 season on the injured list. It seems likely that catcher Eric Haase will get the final roster spot, but Milwaukee has not officially announced this yet.
This is the first Opening Day for several of these Milwaukee Brewers players.
Of the 25 players mentioned there are at least nine of them who have never made an Opening Day roster. They are DL Hall, Abner Uribe, Bryan Hudson, Thyago Vieira, Joey Ortiz, Andruw Monasterio, Sal Frelick, Jackson Chourio, and Blake Perkins.
The Brewers will face the New York Mets on Opening Day this year. That game is scheduled for Thursday, March 28.
