Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur sent a message to first-round pick Jordan Morgan that should get the offensive lineman’s attention. On Tuesday, the Packers’ head coach commented on Morgan’s progress following a major switch-up for the offensive line.
On Tuesday, the Packers held Day 1 of mandatory minicamp. The defense dominated the show, with the first and second-team offense losing to a defense without three secondary starters. The coaching staff made a few changes to the offensive line during the day.
The Green Bay Packers OL looked like this in May

As previously discussed on WSH, the Packers started OTAs last month without Morgan in the starting five:
According to Green Bay Packers USA Today beat writer Ryan Wood, the Packers offensive line unit during OTAs on Tuesday was Rasheed Walker at left tackle, Elgton Jenkins at left guard, Josh Myers at center, Sean Rhyan at right guard, and Andre Dillard at right tackle.
Zach Tom was present at OTAs but did not practice. Tom is projected to be one of the starters on the offensive line this season. Jordan Morgan not being on the starting offensive line unit for now could be a problem for the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers made changes to the OL on Tuesday

According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, the Packers started the team period with Morgan as their starting right tackle:
Jordan Morgan is the starting right tackle during first 11-on-11 period. Andre Dillard at left tackle with Jenkins, Myers and Rhyan inside.
Per Ryan Wood with USA Today, the Packers rotated Rasheed Walker to left tackle, with Dillard heading to right tackle. Morgan was switched to an interior offensive lineman:
Rasheed Walker enters at left tackle, Andre Dillard at right tackle, and Jordan Morgan at right guard. #Packers working through a LOT of combos on their offensive line this offseason.
Many analysts thought Morgan would have the inside track to assume the left tackle position. However, the Packers must not think he’s ready to be David Bakhtiari’s successor.
Matt LaFleur sent a wake-up call to Jordan Morgan

LaFleur talked about Morgan’s progress this spring. He sent the rookie a wake-up call, per the transcription of LaFleur’s comments by Jason B Hirschhorn:
“Certainly, he has a long way to go in terms of just mentally. Physically, he has all the tools that you look for. We’re going to keep pushing him.”
It’s interesting that the Packers are considering Morgan as an interior offensive guard before the left tackle position. Morgan played left tackle at Arizona. LaFleur’s comments aren’t a shot at the athlete, but it’s clear LaFleur isn’t overly happy with where his first-round pick is in June.
