The Green Bay Packers defense, under the guidance of Jeff Hafley in his first year as their coordinator, is off to a scorching start. The Packers’ defense reportedly dominated Day 1 of mandatory minicamp, showcasing the positive influence of their new coordinator.
The Green Bay Packers defense is shorthanded this week

Per Rob Demovosky with ESPN, Jaire Alexander, Xavier McKinney, and Keisean Nixon were given excused absences at minicamp this week:
At Packers minicamp, Jaire Alexander, Xavier McKinney and Keisean Nixon have been given the minicamp off by coach Matt LaFleur. They’ve previously exceeded their threshold for offseason participation to qualify for their workout bonuses. LaFleur has raved about all three.
Sean Clifford and the offense struggled on Tuesday

Per Ryan Wood with USA Today, Love showed some good and bad during the practice. He had a “wounded duck” throw on a deep ball. He followed the mistake by throwing a perfect pass for a red zone touchdown. The Packers’ first-team offense lost the two-minute drill, going four and out on their final possession of the day.
Per Andy Herman with Packer Report, Sean Clifford had a disastrous practice. Clifford threw three interceptions. Safety Zayne Anderson had all three picks.
Defenses usually have the advantage this time of year, so the Packers shouldn’t be too concerned about the offense. The defense won many early training camp battles against Love and the first-team offense last year.
Jordan Morgan update

Reporters mentioned new rookie offensive lineman Jordan Morgan several times, and not necessarily for good reasons. He was used at practice as their right tackle. Per Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Morgan was getting pushed around by defensive end Kingsley Enagbare. Head coach Matt LaFleur was not happy with how close to Love that Enagbare shoved Morgan.
Per Jason Hirschhorn, LaFleur called out Morgan for his mental game:
“Certainly, he has a long way to go in terms of just mentally. Physically, he has all the tools that you look for. We’re going to keep pushing him.”
