Milwaukee Bucks fans only have to wait a couple more weeks before their favorite basketball team returns to wow them with fantastic basketball.
While there are still questions surrounding the roster’s longevity as contenders for the Larry O’Brien trophy, no one will dismiss the quality of their roster. The Bucks are difficult opponents to contain for any NBA team as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are on the floor.
As if to further prove that not many consider the Bucks top contenders for the 2025 NBA title, they’re not among the teams playing on Christmas Day. It’s common knowledge to everyone that the league’s marquee games feature some of the league’s most exciting teams, so for the Bucks to be excluded from the list is nothing short of slander for Bucks fans.
One of the team’s core players went forward and talked about the snub. He didn’t mince words with his honest thoughts on the matter.
Khris Middleton thinks the Milwaukee Bucks are underestimated after marquee Christmas Day games snub
During the Bucks’ media day activities, Middleton was asked about his team’s exclusion from the Yuletide marquee games. He went on to say that he felt the league was underestimating the team.
Per ClutchPoints’ Julian Ojeda:
“I think, somewhat, we’ve been overlooked,” Middleton said, as reported by ESPN’s Jamal Collier. “We should have had a Christmas Day game, I believe. But the NBA felt different. I don’t need that as extra motivation … but disappointed a little bit.”
Giannis and head coach Doc Rivers also preached the same things as Middleton:
Antetokounmpo echoed his teammate’s sentiments, adding, “We’ve always been overlooked.”
“We all pay attention to it. We see it, we read it,” Rivers said. “I don’t think I’ll have to use it, it’ll use itself, if you know what I mean.”
The Milwaukee Bucks may have a mountain to climb if they want to disprove the narratives surrounding them. If they make the Finals by June, they will surely be among the first teams considered for next year’s marquee games.
