Ian Rapoport: Packers reportedly interested in trading for Deebo Samuel

The Green Bay Packers are leaving no stone un-turned when it comes to finding a replacement for Davante Adams. That includes a block buster trade like Deebo Samuel:

Among the teams to consider as the trade market for Deebo Samuel heats up: The #Jets, the #Packers, the #Chiefs, the #Lions… and, I assume, most other teams who like really good players. https://t.co/onrd55k3s3

What would it take to get Deebo in Green Bay?

If Green Bay (or anyone else) is serious about trading for Samuel, they likely are looking at a massive asking price.  Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams both had premium picks in their trade deals. That feels like the minimum for Deebo Samuel. With Green Bay having four picks in the first and second round this year, they could make the move.

If Deebo doesn’t want to be in San Francisco, trading him now before he just chooses to not re-sign next year would be the smart move.  The wide receiver market is on fire right now.  It’s better to trade a player when you can get something for him rather than just let him walk in free agency.  The 49ers aren’t in as much of a hurry as the Packers were as Deebo is still under contract for one more year, but if he is willing to sit out the 49ers may feel the need to trade him now.
