Last offseason, the Green Bay Packers faced a lot of criticism after trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Obviously, the reason for this decision was because Jordan Love, whom they traded up to select in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, was ready to take over the offense.
Green Bay, however, silenced these doubters with seven wins in their last ten games and clinched a playoff spot, largely due to Love’s development throughout the year.
Love’s pending contract extension has been the top story line surrounding the Packers ever since the 2023 season ended. However, some fans believe the contract has already been signed.
Green Bay Packers Fans Think Jordan Love’s Contract Is Already Signed

According to Robin Adams of Gridiron Heroics:
Earlier today, a social media post indicating that the Packers and Love had come to an agreement went viral on X (formerly Twitter):
🚨 After the Trevor signing, all eyes are now on Dak, Tua and Jordan Love. Who tops the market next? I’m hearing the Packers are racing to get a deal done with Jordan Love before QB prices go up. Sounds like Packers want to get deal done before Tua and Dak sign 🧀 #GoPackGo pic.twitter.com/d7nV3psxyg

Packers players report for training camp on Sunday. The NFL world will see if this is true at that point, one would imagine.
Through seven games, Love was completing just 57.7% of his passes. He had 1,492 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a passer rating of 78.2. Worse still, the Packers were 2-5.
However, the Packers went 7-3 in their final ten games while Love completed 68.7% of his passes for 2,667 yards, 21 touchdowns, just three interceptions, and a passer rating of 108.2.
Overall, Love finished his first year as Green Bay’s starting quarterback with a completion percentage of 64.2%, 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 96.1 passer rating.
Neither Rodgers nor Brett Favre had as good overall numbers in their first seasons as the Packers starting quarterback:
Quarterback Completion % Yards Touchdowns Interceptions Passer Rating Jordan Love 64.2% 4,159 32 11 96.1 Aaron Rodgers 63.6% 4,038 28 13 93.8 Brett Favre 64.1% 3,227 18 13 85.3 As seen in the graphic above, Love had a better completion percentage, more yards, more touchdowns, a higher passer rating, and fewer interceptions than either of his Hall of Fame predecessors.
This is a big reason why Green Bay and their fans wanted to see Love extended this offseason.
