After last Saturday’s brutal loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Green Bay Packers’ quest to make the Super Bowl has ended. But for Elgton Jenkins, that dream will eventually become a reality sooner than later.
To put things in perspective, the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets last year. In turn, the franchise handed the keys to Jordan Love as its primary quarterback.
Although Love’s performance against the 49ers contributed to the team’s elimination, along with Anders Carlson’s missed kick, there’s no denying how he raises the team’s ceiling. Of course, it remains to be seen what moves Green Bay will make in the coming months to ensure a trip to the Super Bowl in the future.
Elgton Jenkins Expects the Green Bay Packers To Make Super Bowl
Speaking to the media after being eliminated, Elgton Jenkins shared a positive outlook on the Packers’ future in the NFL.
According to Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated:
“We’re coming. We’re coming with a purpose. We want to win it all. Feel like we could have did it this year but next year I’m very optimistic. We’ve got the guys in the building. We’ve got everything that we need to get it done. We’ve just got to go do it. We set a good foundation this year. We’ve just got to go win,” Jenkins said.
That message from Jenkins seemed to have ignited a fire amongst Green Bay’s roster. Rightfully so, because the Packers were in control of last Saturday’s game against San Francisco and stumbled in the final two minutes of the match. That kind of disappointment has motivated the team to do better when the next season comes around.
To take it all the way. Most definitely. Get better as an offense, trust in the process, and get better individually so collectively we can be better and take it all the way,” Jenkins added.
With the Packers’ season now over, everyone in the organization can now focus on getting better, such as Love’s promise to improve and finding new talent via the draft. Be on the lookout in the coming months to see what moves Green Bay will make to make Jenkins’ claim come true.
