The Green Bay Packers (as well as the rest of the league) know that of-season programs are vital for the success of the regular season. It is also true that off-season injuries can derail a season before it even starts.
Injuries are, unfortunately, part of the game in the NFL. This is why players, teams. and the league spend millions trying to prevent them.
However, one cornerback today was forced to leave practice for good after going down with his second injury of the day.
One Green Bay Packers Defender Forced To Leave Practice After Second Injury
According to local sports anchor Kyle Malzhan:
Robert Rochell went for a pass break up and went down pretty hard. Was on the ground for a few minutes with trainers after getting up. He’s on the sidelines.
Second time he’s gotten banged up today. #Packers
Earlier this off-season Rob Demovsky of ESPN reported that the Packers re-signed cornerback Robert Rochell.
Rochell, a restricted free agent, was not tendered by the team.
The 25-year-old Rochell, who was previously on the Panthers’ practice squad, signed with Green Bay for yet another season. Despite not appearing on defense, he played 112 special teams snaps in nine games.
Last season, Rochell made four tackles for Green Bay.
He was a fourth-round pick of the Rams in 2021, and he played 28 games with five starts for them, making 23 tackles, intercepting one pass, and defusing four others.
