Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur will be entering his sixth season with the franchise. He has yet to go to the Super Bowl with Green Bay, but maybe that will come one day. LaFleur coached Aaron Rodgers for the first four years with the Packers, but he coached Jordan Love last season.
It was a roller coaster season with Love last season, but it turned out to be better in the end. Even with falling short of the NFC Championship Game, there is hope and optimism for the franchise moving forward. They have not won the Super Bowl (XLV) since the 2010 season when they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Some think that the Green Bay Packers have a chance to be a Super Bowl contender once again this season because of how fast the young players have grown up. It will be interesting to see what happens throughout the 2024 season.
ESPN NFL Analyst Mina Kimes Ranks Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur As the 7th Best Head Coach In the NFL
Many people were wondering how good of a coach Matt LaFleur was when Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets last offseason. Was Rodgers calling all of the shots or was LaFleur calling the plays? A lot of those questions were answered when Jordan Love developed into a star late in the season.
Mina Kimes on the Mina Kimes Show the other day said about the Packers head coach:
“I feel like Matt LaFleur has a case to be a top-five head coach in the NFL right now. Last year, Green Bay was the fourth-youngest playoff team—not that year but ever in the modern NFL. Six of their 11 starters on offense were either rookies or guys in their second year. Everybody said: Show us you can do it without Aaron Rodgers. Well, he showed you that he could do it without Aaron Rodgers.”
This football team has a lot of young talent returning this season. They are only going to get better with time. During the start of last season, the Green Bay Packers were at one point 2-5 and fans wanted him fired and also general manager Brian Gutekunst fired.
However, the fanbase was proven wrong by both of them toward the end of the season. There is a chance that if the Green Bay Packers win the NFC North this season, Matt LaFleur could be a finalist for the NFL Coach of the Year Award.
