During the offseason, the Green Bay Packers lost some key players and so did other teams across the NFL. There is always player movement going on year after year. Green Bay improved its roster this offseason by signing running back Josh Jacobs and safety Xavier McKinney in NFL free agency.
Some key players the Green Bay Packers drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft were offensive tackle Jordan Morgan, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, safety Javon Bullard, and running back Marshawn Lloyd. Green Bay hopes they will all contribute to this football team at some point this season. The young players have contributed in the past and they hope it will happen again this season.

They will need to get off to a strong start this season. The Green Bay Packers will have a chance to be one of the best teams in the NFL this season.
CBS Sports Lists David Bakhtiari As the Green Bay Packers Key Departure This Offseason

The Packers lost some pieces on the offensive line this offseason. David Bakhtiari was let go and he was not re-signed and Jon Runyan Jr. signed with the New York Giants in free agency. They also released running back Aaron Jones this offseason and he signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
CBS Sports Tyler Sullivan thinks that the biggest loss for the Packers this offseason was Bakhtiari. He wrote:
“David Bakhtiari and the Packers cut ties after 11 seasons after the club released him in early March. When healthy, the now 32-year-old was among the very best offensive tackles in the NFL. He was named to five All-Pro teams and three Pro Bowls during his tenure, but injuries played a substantial part in his final years in Green Bay. This past season, he was limited to just one game before a knee injury landed him on IR. Bakhtiari isn’t retiring, however, and is reportedly on schedule to play in 2024.“
It is not a surprise that Bakhtiari is the biggest loss for the Green Bay Packers this offseason. He has been the starting left tackle for this franchise for the past several years. Rasheed Walker started most of last season at left tackle because David Bakhtiari suffered a season-ending injury.

Walker and rookie Jordan Morgan will be competing for the left tackle job in training camp. Rasheed Walker has the edge over Morgan at the moment. One of those players needs to be the reliable blindside for quarterback Jordan Love with the departure of David Bakhtiari on the offensive line.
