Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism throughout his debut campaign as the team’s cornerstone QB. To be fair, he’s given his critics more than a few reasons to call him out during what has been a roller-coaster ride of a season for the 25-year-old.
This was absolutely not the case on Sunday night as Love came out with one of his best outings in a Packers unform.
Green Bay Packers WR Reacts to Jordan Love’s Big Game
Love posted a career-high 322 yards against the Charges on 27-of-40 completed passes. He threw two touchdowns with zero turnovers for an impressive 108.5 passer rating on the evening.
After the game, wide receiver Christian Watson, who was on the receiving end of one of Love’s two touchdowns, had nothing but high praise for his QB:
“I think he’s just proving all of us right,” said Watson, via Jason Wilde of The Journal Times. “We’ve seen what he’s capable of doing since the moment he got the starting job.
“Obviously, we knew that there was going to be some adversity that we were going to face and whatnot, but he just keeps on chugging along. I think he has a bright future.”
After seeing that masterful performance from Love, it’s really hard to argue against Watson’s statements here.
Rookie tight end Tucker Kraft echoed Watson’s praise for Love. The TE got creative with his description of Love:
“J-Love is that guy,” Kraft said. “I just compared him to Doc Holliday from (the movie) ‘Tombstone’ — cool hand, he’s ready to strike. He’s going to put that ball anywhere he wants.”
