Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love exceeded expectations in 2023 and is now facing even more expectations entering the 2024 NFL regular season. Entering last season, many were wondering whether or not he can just play the position.
Now, there are a lot of talks about him being in the MVP talks in 2024. When you are seventh in the passing yards and second in passing touchdowns a season ago in the NFL, those talks will happen. Jordan Love is the highest-ranked NFC quarterback to win the award next season.
He completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. The touchdown passes may go up a little bit, it is possible the interceptions drop and the passing yardage goes up for him. What will help his case for MVP next season is that he will not rely on one wide receiver to get his passing yards.
He loves to distribute the football to many different wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends. Love is always willing to learn and grow.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Deserves the MVP Hype Heading Into 2024 and He Will Get Paid This Offseason
At some point this offseason, he is probably going to receive a huge contract extension. The Packers are sold on him for the long haul. It will be interesting to see how he will respond to the big contract he receives. Once he gets that contract, Love is going to have to perform at a high level year in and year out and if that doesn’t happen, it is going to be an extremely bad look for general manager Brian Gutekunst.
Jordan Love last year showed flashes of Aaron Rodgers. This was very similar to when Rodgers learned from Brett Favre for three seasons. Aaron Rodgers won several MVPs with Green Bay when he was the starter. Favre also won MVPs with Green Bay.
It is not too early to warrant the MVP hype for Love. He may not win the MVP Award next season because of how loaded the AFC quarterbacks are, but there is no doubt he will be in the conversation if the Packers win the NFC North next season because of him.
