The Week in Wisconsin Badgers Volleyball
The Badgers went 2-0 to open Big Ten Conference play, defeating Northwestern and Indiana via the sweep. While their match against Northwestern was virtually no contest, the Hoosiers put up a little bit of a fight, especially in the 2nd set. Badgers volleyball went on to win that to record their second sweep of the week to continue their dominant opening run of 11-0.
Other Movements in the Rankings
The Badgers did see their firm grip loosen just a little bit, especially if you look by the points. Nebraska remained at No. 2 this week, but the points are where the intrigue is. The Badgers had 1595 points last week, while Nebraska sat at 1515. Both teams were 9-0. Nebraska played slightly better competition than the Badgers, taking on two ranked teams in Ohio State and Minnesota. Because of this, Nebraska moved to 1531 points while the Badgers lost 3 points to 1592.
Stanford was able to gain one spot in the rankings, gaining ten points to get to 1437. Florida continued a downward trajectory, falling from No. 3 to No. 4 while losing 25 points in the AVCA rankings. Louisville holds at No. 5 from last week, falling two points.

Arizona State is back in at number 25 after sitting 14-0 to start the season and grabbing wins against Arizona U and Washington. Creighton is the biggest mover after dropping 5 spaces to No. 16. This is after dropping a match against Xavier.
The Badgers are back in action this week, traveling to meet No. 22 Ohio State on Wednesday and Michigan coming to town on Sunday.
