The New York Jets have somewhat become Green Bay Packers east and is it quite possible that New York makes a push for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams in the offseason. Brandon Tierney of WFAN Radio thinks that the Jets are going to add Adams this offseason.
Tierney said about the possibility of them adding Adams via trade this offseason from the Las Vegas Raiders:
“The New York Jets are gonna be awesome next year. The Jets are gonna have an offensive line with a stud left tackle with AVT and with [Joe] Tippmann, who is very good. So at least 60 percent of their weakest unit right now is going to be really good. That is without a free agent addition. Then you throw in Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall finally a year removed from surgery, it’s go time.”
Adams is 30 years old and will still have a couple of years remaining on his expensive contract, according to Spotrac. Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He has caught 84 passes for 968 yards receiving and five touchdowns so far this season. Davante Adams is averaging 11.5 yards per catch on the year.
Wide Receiver Davante Adams Being Traded To the New York Jets Would Be Fascinating
Adams had some of the best years in the NFL when Rodgers was with him when they were playing with the Green Bay Packers. They never won a Super Bowl together in Green Bay, but winning a Super Bowl together in New York would be something else. The Davante Adams being reunited with Aaron Rodgers talks will be going on throughout the 2024 offseason.
If that move doesn’t happen, then it wasn’t for a lack of trying. The Jets will do everything this offseason to please Rodgers and it has not made people happy across the Jets fanbase and across the media. Adams has done well playing for the Raiders despite the fact that they may miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. If they were to reunite together, the ultimate goal would be for them is to win the Super Bowl in 2024-2025 since New York has missed the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season.
The New York Jets have not been there since 2010. This is why they should make a move for Davante Adams this offseason to pair him up with Aaron Rodgers.
