Tyson Miller is back with the Brewers
The team announced on Friday that they recalled Miller and placed LHP Bennett Sousa on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder irritation, and placed RHP Jake Cousins on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Another Brewers related move on Friday: Jason Alexander who made 11 starts for the Brewers last season, is beginning a rehab assignment with the Arizona Complex League Club. Alexander has been out since Spring Training with a shoulder injury.
What these moves mean for the Brewers?
Not much. The team is still in a position where injuries occur, and certain guys will go back and forth between Triple-A and the big league club. Tyson Miller will be that guy this year.
Miller hasn’t impressed at the big-league level with an ERA over six but Milwaukee at this point needs arms, and Miller is that guy to fill the void.
Bennett Sousa was the second left-handed pitcher along with Hoby Milner in the bullpen. Sousa has only appeared in two games with the Brewers, and he likely wasn’t going to be apart of the bullpen going forward.
Jake Cousins has struggled in his stints with the Brewers this year. Last year, Cousins was underrated coming out of the bullpen; pitching a 2.70 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched.
This year, it’s more command and giving up hits; Cousins has issued 10 walks, and allowed 10 hits in 9 appearances this year.
