The Brewers made a miscalculation when they traded Josh Hader. Purely a financial decision, Hader was traded to the San Diego Padres. At the time, the Brewers were first in the NL Central with their sights set on the postseason. Now, it is Josh Hader who is continuing on in the postseason while the Brewers sit at home. Josh Hader had an amazing NLDS. Brewers fans were quick to react on social media to Josh Hader’s performance in the NLDS.

Hader was lights out during the series with the Dodgers. He went three for three on saves while allowing no earned runs. In the clinching game, Hader struck out the side to slam the door on any potential Dodgers comeback. While every fan loves to see the Dodgers get beat, it is painful to see Hader be so dominant. This could’ve been the Brewers spot had they simply stuck with Hader. He was going through a bit of a rough patch but he clearly still has the dominant stuff to shut down a team.
Brewers Fans React To Josh Hader NLDS Performance
Brewers fans definitely had something to say about Hader’s performance. Everyone was happy for Hader but were disappointed that it came for the Padres.
Last year, Freddie Freeman beat Josh Hader and the Brewers to send the Braves on the way to the World Series. This year, Hader absolutely dominated Freeman and the Dodgers to send the Padres to the NLDS.
Phillies vs. Padres. The most painful matchup imaginable for Brewers fans.

I don’t think anyone had Phillies vs. Padres in the NLCS. This shows how open the National League was and the real chance that the Brewers had to come out of the National League. Many questioned the trade again last night.
If I ever had a player like Josh Hader, I would simply not trade him.

There are some players you simply don’t trade. I get that being in a small market is tough but when you have something good, keep it.
I still can't believe the Brewers traded Josh Hader. Complete dominance

This fan is just in complete disbelief. At the time of the trade many fans were in disbelief but the front office promised that they were still trying to be competitive. Josh Hader’s dominance in the postseason says otherwise.
I’ll never get over the Josh Hader trade.
— Sam Kuffel (@SamKuffelWx) October 15, 2022
I don’t think that Sam Kuffel is alone here. I don’t think that many Brewers fans are going to get over the Josh Hader trade. Even players questioned it at the time. It is something that the front office will continue to have to answer questions on throughout the offseason.
Postseason success often hinges on a dominant closer. We have already seen some 9th inning comebacks in the postseason due to blown saves. Brewers fans will probably be reacting to Josh Hader’s performance for the entire postseason if he continues to pitch like this.

Ridiculous story. No facts support it. Hader was getting crushed and the Brewers had fallen out of first place. The trade replaced Hader with Taylor Rogers, another fallen closer as well as a few others.
Hader’s ERA 7.71 the rest of the way, including 7 scoreless appearances to close out the season. So he was even worse until he figured out what had gone wrong.
Some say a flaw in his delivery was discovered, those in Milwaukee know he was struggling with his wifes difficult pregnancy and had even left the team for a bit out of concern. He came back totally out of synch and got lit up for two months. Everyone liked Hader and most are glad he righted his ship, even if it was in San Diego.
So you’re trying to say that it was our lack of a closer that caused our season to end up flushed down the toilet and not a complete lack of offense?
