The Wisconsin basketball team has potentially lost another player as AJ Storr will enter the draft, but keep his eligibility.
In a new turn of events, Storr has decided the best move for his future will be entering the NBA Draft pool this season. Storr has the potential to become an excellent player in the future, with the right practice and coaching, and believes now is the best time to enter the league. Wisconsin basketball already lost one of their bench guards to the transfer portal, and will now likely lose Storr to the NBA.
Wisconsin Basketball Guard AJ Storr Announces Intentions, Enters NBA Draft Pool
In an interesting move, Wisconsin basketball guard AJ Storr has announced he will enter the NBA Draft pool for the upcoming draft. Storr is coming off of a career-year for the Badgers where he averaged 16.8 points per game for Wisconsin. The guard was not only a great scorer, but also an exciting player to watch fly across the court.
Storr left a few hints previously towards a possible exit from the University, between kissing the floor of the Kohl Center to his most recent media interview. Unfortunately for Storr, the media has been on his back in an effort to figure out his next move.
After much contemplation, the guard will enter the NBA Draft waters, but will remain college eligible but not hiring an official agent. If Storr returns, he will have two-years of eligibility left.
Wisconsin Basketball Loses Top Player to NBA Draft, But Leaves Door Open
While Storr has entered the draft, the move to keep his eligibility is an interesting one. This could be a case of Storr trying to receive information from NBA scouts and assistants in an effort to develop his game next season. Storr purposely made sure he could enter the draft while still having the option to return to the Wisconsin basketball program, which could mean his heart is still set on collegiate basketball.
Will AJ Storr Return to the Wisconsin Basketball Program?
More than likely for both Storr and Wisconsin basketball, this will be the final contact between both sides. Storr has plenty of talent, and while he is not a lottery pick by any means, he can certainly bring value to an NBA team as a spark-plug scorer. While Storr left the door open for a return, it seems unlikely the guard will be back due to the interest in him.
