The Wisconsin basketball team was full of emotion following a difficult first-round exit from the NCAA Tournament against James Madison.

The Dukes were simply the better team against the Badgers a night ago, and Wisconsin never seemed to stand a chance against the Dukes. James Madison led the entire game and never allowed Wisconsin basketball into striking distance before advancing into the next round of the tournament. Following the loss, the Wisconsin basketball team addressed the media, and star guard AJ Storr took time to speak about his current thoughts.

Directly after the loss to the James Madison Dukes, the Wisconsin basketball players and staff addressed the media and spoke about their difficult loss. The Badgers entered play as a near six-point favorite over the Dukes, but Wisconsin did not seem ready to play as they made simple mistakes and turned the ball over consistently against James Madison. Even from a game-plan perspective, Wisconsin basketball seemed completely off as Steven Crowl was playing behind the arc against a team that does not have interior defenders.

The Wisconsin basketball team was emotional and drained after the loss, and addressed the media with only a small amount to say.

“That is just basketball, the law of averages… whether the ball is falling, you need to find ways to score and defend.” – Senior Forward Tyler Wahl when asked about multiple shots going in-and-out of the basket.

During his final game ever, forward Tyler Wahl said he felt it was not the Badgers night, but despite that the team should have found ways to win. Wahl also emphasized that defense was a major issue for Wisconsin basketball against the Dukes.

Storr: ‘I Don’t Know… I Am Just Thinking about the Loss and My Teammates’

One player in particular that both the media and fans wanted to hear from was star Wisconsin basketball guard AJ Storr. Storr played perhaps his worst game of the season and was a victim of a few shots rimming out of the basket, as he made 5-of-14 from the field. The guard finished with 13 points, but also had four turnovers as he tried to force shots on offense in hopes of propelling the Badgers forward.

Storr was visibly upset after the game, and as the media crowded around him there was one thing on their mind that had to be asked. The first question Storr received pertained to his future plans, and the guard was asked whether or not he would return to the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program next season.

“I don’t know, I’m just thinking about the loss and my teammates,” Storr responded to the question regarding next season with Wisconsin, per Evan Flood. The guard acknowledged he had not made a decision yet, but expressed his love for his teammates. Storr called his fellow teammate Wahl a ‘true legend’ and felt he should go down in Wisconsin basketball history.

Storr does intend on making any decisions as he continues to process this season and the loss.

Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Staff Looking For Replacements Within the Transfer Portal For Leader Wahl

The Wisconsin basketball staff has already been working towards finding a replacement for forward Tyler Wahl inside the transfer portal. While Wahl did not have a good game in his final outing for Wisconsin, the Badgers will likely have a difficult time trying to match what Wahl provided both on and off the court for the team.

At this point in time, while Storr is still thinking over the loss, Wisconsin basketball has had no intentions of searching for another guard. Obviously it is far too early for Storr to fully know what he will do next season, but with the Badgers staff only recruiting forwards in the portal thus far, it seems as though the staff is confident Storr will be back next season.
