The Green Bay Packers will take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 3:25 CT. The Packers (7-8) are facing a must-win game if they want to continue their playoff push. The Vikings (12-3) are still in the running for the number one seed and would love to play spoiler to Green Bay’s playoff hopes. The Packers decided to make a change at kicker prior to their Sunday match-up. Kicker Ramiz Ahmed has been added to the active roster.
Packers Elevate Ramiz Ahmed To Active Roster Vs Vikings
According to Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated:
The Packers will use Ahmed’s strong leg on kickoffs as a way to help combat explosive Vikings returner Kene Nwangwu, who ranks No. 2 in NFL with a 26.0-yard average. In his second year in the league, he’s got three career touchdowns, including a 97-yard touchdown this season against New England. With 4.32 speed in the 40, Nwangwu trails only Green Bay’s Keisean Nixon in average and with five returns of 30-plus yards.
“I thought the kickoff coverage a week ago was, it was a clinic reel,” coach Matt LaFleur said. “It’s going to be a great challenge for us, but I’m excited to see how we do.”
A win would bring Green Bay back to .500 for the first time since October 16th when they lost to the New York Jets 27-10. The Packers offense has looked much different in recent weeks with the emergence of Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs on the field at the same time. If Green Bay wants to win this weekend, they’ll likely use both. The Vikings defense is currently dead last (32nd) in the NFL in pass yards allowed per game. The Packers should certainly be able to take advantage.
