When the Green Bay Packers lost Josh Myers to a knee injury last season, Lucas Patrick stepped in. Patrick played well for the Packers, but was not brought back. Instead, he signed with Green Bay’s biggest rival: the Chicago Bears. In his introductory news conference, Patrick had some strong words for the Packers. Patrick said in his press conference was that the Packers were “a” historic team. The Bears, however, are “THE” historic team. However, now we are not sure when Patrick will be able to suit up for “THE historic team.”
Lucas Patrick Suffers Major Hand Injury:
The Chicago Bears will be without starting center Lucas Patrick after the 28-year-old injured his right hand during Thursday’s practice.
“The reason I’m giving that out is he is going to be out for a little bit of time, so it’s not just a soft tissue injury or something where he might be out a couple days,” Bears coach Matt Eberflus said on Friday. “There is no timetable on the return.”
However, today Brad Biggs announced that the Bears Center is expected to require surgery on his right hand. This early in training camp, there is likely optimism he will be available sooner rather than later, perhaps by the season opener.
Patrick was one of Chicago’s main additions in free agency after playing five seasons in Green Bay. He signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Bears with the expectation of starting at center, though he also has experience playing guard.
