The Bears agreed to terms with former Packers interior offensive lineman Lucas Patrick on Tuesday night. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports Patrick will sign a two-year, $8 million contract with $4 million fully guaranteed.
Patrick, 28, is following Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy from Green Bay. Patrick spent six seasons with the Packers after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Duke. Patrick’s deal is for two years worth up to $8 million with $4 million guaranteed in his first season. It was general manager Ryan Poles’ first offensive move since the start of the free agency period.
There’s an obvious connection between Patrick and new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy which was most likely a propelling factor. Patrick is a versatile interior lineman that can play any of the three interior lineman positions. It will be tough to see him go, but is not a deal breaker for our own offensive line. Green Bay has manufactured un-drafted free agent talent at the offensive line position for decades.
