The calendar has officially switched to August and the Milwaukee Brewers find themselves in a great position in the standings.  However, more recently, one big impeding factor has been health of the players due landing on the COVID IL.  So far the bullpen has been hit the hardest, which means other relievers will need to step up as these numbers rise. Initially this all began when Christian Yelich and Jace Peterson were placed on the IL.  Shortly after, Jake Cousins, Jandel Gustave, and Hunter Strickland joined them on the IL.  Lastly, as of August 2nd, superstar closer Josh Hader was…

The 2021 Milwaukee Brewers have been led by a dominant pitching staff, being responsible for a large part of the team’s success. At times, the offense has showed sign of life, but for the most part, they have disappointed.  However, In July the Brewers had one of the best offenses in baseball. With the All-Star break being in July, the Brewers played 24 games last month. 14 of their July games came against the Pirates and Reds. The remaining teams played were the Mets, Royals, White Sox and Braves. In summary, the month was a good mixture of facing elite…

The MLB trade deadline has come and passed.  Teams can no longer trade with one another to help bolster their roster, but an alternative option remains for teams to improve.  That is September call ups in which often times prospects are the ones who get called up. Due to recent rule changes, the maximum amount of players a teams can carry in September this year is 28.  That player must be on the teams 40 man roster.  If that player is on the 40 man roster prior to August 31, they would then be play-off eligible. Prior to the trade…

The 2021 Milwaukee Brewers have been lead by a dominant pitching staff.   Opening day starter Brandon Woodruff currently has a 2.14 ERA, Corbin Burnes 2.12, and Freddy Peralta 2.17!  After his last start, Freddy Peralta has surpassed Nolan Ryan for a MLB record! Anytime you can be in the same stratosphere as Nolan Ryan, you know something is going extremely well.  This record certainly shows just how un-hittable Freddy Peralta has been all season! Most starts* in a single season allowing two hits or fewer in AL/NL history Freddy Peralta (MIL): 12 in 2021** Nolan Ryan (TEX): 11 in 1991…

The Milwaukee Brewers have made their first move during trade deadline week.  News came out on Wednesday evening that they are going to acquire INF Eduardo Escobar of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks had been identified as sellers early on in this season when they lost 17 games in a row in June.  They additionally lost a MLB record 24 straight road games.  Escobar had been on many Brewers fans radars since then. Sources: Brewers acquire Eduardo Escobar. — Robert Murray (@ByRobertMurray) July 28, 2021 Escobar has experience all over the infield but does best at the corners.  As a…

The trade deadline is this coming Friday at 3PM CT and rumors are heating up.  The latest rumor has indicated that the Milwaukee Brewers are interested in starting pitcher Kyle Gibson. The Brewers currently possess one of the best trio’s in baseball in Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, and Freddy Peralta.  Adding Gibson to the mix would make this one of the best rotations in baseball. Potential trade partners for Kyle Gibson include the Rays and Brewers, per source. As for Gallo, I don’t have much you’re not hearing elsewhere but can reiterate Blue Jays’ interest. — Levi Weaver (@ThreeTwoEephus) July…

The trade deadline is this coming Friday at 3PM CT and rumors are heating up.  The latest has indicated that the Milwaukee Brewers had been “checking in” on a pair of power bats.  Those names: Josh Donaldson and Trevor Story. This is not the first time the Brewers have expressed interest in Story or Donaldson.  While neither is a first basemen, a clear position that they need to upgrade in, it is possible either one of these players could play out of their normal position. Brewers checked in on Josh Donaldson. Seems like a long shot as he’s high-priced (owed…

The Milwaukee Brewers have assembled one of the best pitching staffs in baseball this season. Not everything came together at once, as a few players had hiccups in seasons prior. However, in 2021, everything seems to be coming to fruition as the pitching staff just set a MLB record for being the first team ever to reach 1,000 strikeouts prior to their 100th game. The Milwaukee Brewers just became the first NL team ever to strike out 1000 batters in fewer than 100 games played. Burnes, Peralta and Woodruff all rank in the top 7 in the NL in K’s.…

The MLB Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching.  With the Brewers in contention to win the division and potentially make a deep playoff run, they will be looking to add pieces to their team.  Often time prospects are traded to help improve the major league ball club. Despite acquiring Rowdy Tellez earlier in July, first base seems to be the biggest area of need for the Brewers.  They also have been rumored to be seeking a bullpen pitcher or two.  In this article I am going to take a look at three prospects who could get traded, or in other words…
