Green Bay kicked off the 2021 NFL season last night in their preseason opener against the Houston Texans. These games – essentially live dress-rehearsals – give players the opportunity to prove themselves and their worth on the field. Subsequently, preseason matches allow front offices to evaluate their athletes’ showings and ultimately determine who will make the final cut. Dozens of fresh faces and names suited up in the green and gold…

Preston Smith’s time in Green Bay got off to a wildly impressive start. But after a lackluster performance the following season, he found himself on the verge of losing his spot on the roster. The outside linebacker’s overall defensive production fell dramatically from 2019 to 2020. In his first season with the Packers, Smith racked up a career-high 12.5 sacks. The following year, he had only four. Smith also lost ground in tackles, interceptions, and forced fumbles. Given this disappointing regression, as well as Green Bay’s salary-cap issues, releasing Smith became a distinct possibility. Instead, he and the front office…

It’s only been one month since Chicago drafted Justin Fields, but he’s already throwing shade at Green Bay. Presumably Chicago’s QB-of-the-future, Fields now gets to take part in the greatest NFL rivalry of all time: Packers vs. Bears. Apparently, it hasn’t taken him long to find the best way to endear himself to his new team and fans. Caught on Camera…

Amari Rodgers

With the 85th overall pick in the third round of the draft, the Packers have selected wide receiver Amari Rodgers.  In a trade with the Titans, Green Bay moved up seven spots from 92nd to 85th to grab him before another team had the chance. They gave up a fourth round pick (#135) as part of the deal. At 5’10 and 210 pounds, Rodgers is a versatile wideout who is comfortable lining up outside and in the slot.
