Charles Woodson and Al Harris are set to become the newest inductees into the Packers Hall of Fame.

Last year’s banquet was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 28th, when Woodson and Harris will finally be inducted. The pair spent a combined 15 seasons with Green Bay, each as defensive backs.

    Charles Woodson

Woodson spent his first eight seasons (and last three) with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Packers from 2006-2012 and throughout his seven-year tenure, Woodson became a star player, team leader, and fan favorite.

His impressive statistics and formidable performances on the field earned him numerous honors while in Green Bay. Woodson was Defensive Player of the Year in 2009, made four Pro Bowl appearances, broke several team records, and helped lead the Packers to their 2011 Super Bowl victory. He received his iconic gold jacket back in February, as he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A few months from now, Woodson will be forever enshrined as a Packers Hall of Famer as well.

    Al Harris

Harris played for Green Bay from 2003-2009 and was a two-time, back-to-back Pro Bowler in 2007 and 2008. He retired as a Packer in 2012 but still remains active in the NFL today. After several seasons coaching with the Kansas City Chiefs, Harris is currently an assistant secondary coach for the Dallas Cowboys under his own former Packers head coach, Mike McCarthy.

    NFL Legacies

Both entering the league in 1998, these men had two very different stories. Charles Woodson was a highly touted BIG 10 athlete, Heisman Trophy winner, and #4 overall draft pick. Harris played college football for a small Division II team and wasn’t selected until the sixth round. Woodson won Defensive Rookie of the Year, while Harris spent his first season on the practice squad.

And yet, both men went on to have long and illustrious careers in the NFL. Each found great success playing for the Packers and undoubtedly earned their spots in Green Bay’s Hall of Fame.

Congratulations to Charles Woodson and Al Harris!
