It’s only been one month since Chicago drafted Justin Fields, but he’s already throwing shade at Green Bay.
Ohio State’s former quarterback knows a thing or two about rivalries, particularly ones involving football teams from Wisconsin. The Badgers and Buckeyes are formidable BIG 10 opponents every season, and there’s plenty of animosity between the two powerhouse programs.
Presumably Chicago’s QB-of-the-future, Fields now gets to take part in the greatest NFL rivalry of all time: Packers vs. Bears. Apparently, it hasn’t taken him long to find the best way to endear himself to his new team and fans.
Caught on Camera
Fields’s dig towards Green Bay was captured on video, which has now been widely spread across social media.
It happened while the rookie was throwing warm-up passes alongside his quarterbacks coach, John DeFilippo.
DeFilippo asked Fields, “Who was your center at Ohio State?” and Fields answered, “Josh Myers.” The QB coach then questioned what year in school Myers was, to which Fields replied, “He was a senior.”
“Did he get drafted?” DeFilippo inquired next. “To the wrong team,” Fields said. With an amused chuckle, DeFilippo asked, “Who’s that?” Fields can then be heard clearly — and without a second of hesitation — saying in response, “The Packers.”

Looking Forward
Fields and Myers, former Buckeye teammates, will be enemies on the field come the start of the NFL season. They’ll face off during the Packer-Bears match-up at Soldier Field in week six, then again during Sunday Night Football at Lambeau in week fourteen.
With a 20-2 overall record, Fields had quite a successful run at Ohio State. He led his team to back-to-back playoff berths and an appearance in the 2021 College Football National Championship Game. Ohio State has completely dominated the Badgers throughout the last decade. In fact, Fields was undefeated against Wisconsin during his time under center.
However, the rookie QB will face a much more difficult challenge in the bitter rivalry between Chicago and Green Bay. The overall series record currently sits at 101-95-6, with the Packers out in front.
Hopefully, the Green and Gold give Fields a warm welcome to the NFC North and continue to add to that lead throughout this season!
