On April seventh Brandon Woodruff suffered a shoulder injury in his start against the St. Louis Cardinals. The next day the right-hander was placed on the 15-day IL with shoulder inflammation. However, reports came in later on that stated Woodruff had suffered a subscapularis strain and that he would need a longer recovery. According to recent reports from Sophia Mineart, Brandon Woodruff has now undergone his second MRI during this stint on the injured list. Game 1:  Corbin Burnes got the start in game one of the series for the Brewers. It was a rather pedestrian start for the right-hander. When it was all said and done he went five and one thirds innings, allowed two earned runs, and struck out three batters. It’s no secret Matt Bush has struggled since the Brewers traded for him at the 2022 deadline. The veteran has good stuff, but he hasn’t been able to give the Brewers quality innings since the trade. Despite his poor production, the Brewers remained confident and gave Bush the setup man job to start this season. However, Bush has not improved since the start of this season. The right-hander pitched five and two-thirds innings allowing just two hits and one run while also punching out six batters. Game one of the Brewers series against the Diamondbacks had a rough start. The Brewers struggled to get anything going offensively and a couple of errors made in the field ended up costing the Brewers the game. However, the Brewers might not be at fault. The offense did look flat and there was most likely some jet lag from the Brewers playing this series in a different time zone. However, the umpire is absolutely deserving of blame. Woodruff tossed five and third shutout innings and struck out four batters before passing the ball to the bullpen. Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell revealed on Wednesday that Aaron Ashby will undergo arthroscopic shoulder surgery and will likely miss a vast majority of the 2023 season. https://twitter.com/BallySportWI/status/1643720498126241794 After experiencing shoulder fatigue this offseason, Ashby received a platelet rich plasma injection in his shoulder in early February. The injury was initially described as a labrum tear. This original path had Ashby making his season debut sometime in May or June.
