Game 1:
Colin Rea made a spot start for the Brewers in game one of the series. The right-hander pitched five and two-thirds innings allowing just two hits and one run while also punching out six batters.
Offensively the Brewers kicked it off early with a two-run home run courtesy of Rowdy Tellez who had a big series. In the fifth inning, Mike Brosseau hit a home run of his own to add to the Brewers’ lead. After a two-run home run from Trent Grisham the game was tied going into extra innings. Rowdy Tellez won the game with a sac fly in the 10th.

Overall a solid game from the Brewers. Colin Rea turned in a quality start and the offense wasn’t outstanding but good efforts from Rowdy Tellez and Mike Brosseay were all they needed to get the job done.
Game 2:
Everything went right for the Brewers in game two. Eric Lauer got the start and made a solid bounce-back start after struggling in his last game. The left-hander tossed six innings of one-run ball and struck out five batters.
Offensively the Brewers put on a clinic. When it was all said and done they finished with eleven runs. The Brewers got it started early with back-to-back RBI doubles from Willy Adames and Brian Anderson in the first inning. In the second inning, Christian Yelich clubbed his second home run of the season to join the fun. However, Rowdy Tellez once again had the biggest effort in the group. Tellez had a two-home run game. There were many other times the Brewers scored but those were the most notable.

This is one of those nightmare scenarios for the Padres and a huge confidence boost for the Brewers. Everything that could’ve gone right did go right for the Brewers and everything that could’ve gone wrong for the Padres went wrong for the Padres.
Game 3:
Game three was not as pretty for the Brewers. Freddy Peralta got the start and didn’t have his best stuff to put it lightly. The right-hander fought through five innings and allowed five earned runs in those innings.
Offensively the Brewers did score three runs but it didn’t matter much because the pitching wasn’t there. The two runs came from Jessie Winker who had an RBI double in his first at-bat after missing time with an illness then Brian Anderson followed with an RBI single. Other than that the lineup was pretty quiet.

It was a rough day for the Brewers’ bullpen too. Hoby Milner gave up three earned runs in his inning on work and Gus Varland left the game after taking a line drive to the face. To make matters worse Javy Guerra despite only having recorded one out to end the game walked three batters and allowed a run before getting that out.
Not a good game for the Brewers but after winning the first two games of the series the Brewers still seemed fairly confident.
Game 4:
The story of game four was Wade Miley. The veteran left-hander tossed seven shutout innings for the Brewers and struck out eight batters.

The Brewer’s offense was once again fairly quiet in this game. The only run from the offense came from Garrett Mitchell. Mitchell had a bunt single and advanced to second after a balk before swiping third and getting driven in on a sac fly from Brian Anderson.
The bullpen pitched well too. A notable change made was with Peter Strezlecki who got to play the setup man role for the Brewers rather than Matt Bush after Bush struggled in a previous outing. After that, Devin Williams ended the game by picking up the save.
The offense was quiet but the Brewers pitched their way to a win. The pitching was elite for the Brewers in this game and picked up the slack for a dormant offense. This was an impressive series for the Brewers. Let’s hope they can take this momentum into the final series of the road stretch against Seattle.
